Privacy notice
What I do with your data, and above all what I do not do with it. Short, because there is little to tell.
Who is responsible
Deze site is van Steirk LTD., die onder de naam steirk werkt vanuit the United Kingdom, with clients in Belgium and the Netherlands. Je bereikt mij op hallo@steirk.be.
Adres: 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. Ondernemingsnummer: (to follow).
I am the controller for the data processed through this site.
What data I process
This site has a contact form and a quote page. Beyond that there is nothing to create here: there are no visitor accounts.
- What you fill in on the contact form. Your name, email address and whatever you add yourself: company, phone number, what you have in mind and your message. Alongside that I keep your IP address, to prevent abuse of the form.
- Your approval of a quote. If you approve a proposal on the quote page, I record when that happened and with which name, email address, IP address and browser. That is my proof that the work was commissioned.
- Server logs. My hosting provider automatically keeps your IP address, the time and the page requested. That is needed to keep the site running and to spot abuse.
- Analytics. Only once you consent do I measure with Google Analytics which pages get visited. Without consent not a single request goes to Google.
- Your cookie preference. I keep that in your browser, so I do not have to ask every time.
- Email you send me. If you email or call me, I naturally have your message and your details. I use them to reply and, if work comes of it, to follow it up.
Why, and on what basis
- Legitimate interest for the server logs and for the IP address with the contact form: without that data a website cannot run securely and the form is open to abuse.
- Consent for the analytics. You give it yourself, and you can withdraw it at any time.
- Performance of a contract for what you send me through the form or by email in connection with a job, and for the approval of a quote.
- Legal obligation for the records that go with an invoice.
How long I keep it
- Messages from the contact form: up to two years after the last contact, or longer if work comes of it.
- The approval of a quote and the invoicing that goes with it: for as long as tax law requires me to keep my records.
- Server logs: for as long as my hosting provider keeps them, usually a few weeks.
- Analytics: fourteen months at most, after which Google deletes it automatically.
- Your cookie preference: until you clear it yourself or wipe your browser data.
- Email and project data: for as long as we work together, and after that for as long as tax law requires me to keep my records.
Who I share it with
With as few parties as possible, and never to sell it. Specifically:
- Hostinger, where this site and the database run. They process the server logs and the storage.
- Microsoft, where my mailbox runs. A message from the form is also sent to my mailbox.
- Google (Analytics and Tag Manager), only if you consented.
Transfers outside the EU
My company is established in the United Kingdom, outside the European Economic Area. Your data is therefore accessed from a third country. Google also processes data outside the EU.
For the United Kingdom the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision: data may go there without additional safeguards. That decision was renewed in December 2025 and runs until the end of 2031. If anything goes to another country outside the EEA, I rely on the European Commission's standard data protection clauses. In every case I limit the data to what is genuinely needed.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask what data I hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- have it corrected if it is wrong;
- have it erased;
- object to the processing, or have it restricted;
- withdraw your consent for analytics, which you can do right below.

Making a complaint
If you think I am getting it wrong, tell me first: that usually sorts it quickly.
If we cannot resolve it, you can go to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be), to the supervisory authority in your own EU country, or to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If anything changes about this site or about what I measure, I update this text. The date at the bottom shows when that last happened.
