Strategy & advice
Thinking along about what to build, and in what order
The problem: Building what was asked for instead of what is needed.
The most expensive decision is usually not the build. It is building what was asked for instead of what is needed. Working through a feature list feels productive, but it rarely solves the problem you started with.
So I think along about the problem behind the question: who is the user, what is the goal, and what may it cost. That can be a ninety-minute session with written notes afterwards, or a longer engagement where I sit alongside you while it is being built.
Sometimes the advice is: do not build yet. You can expect that from me.
What you get out of it
How it works
- 1 A conversation about goal, user and process
- 2 Options side by side, with costs and consequences
- 3 A roadmap in clear phases
- 4 Looking over your shoulder and sparring during delivery
Who this is for
- Business owners who have to make calls on budget and priority
- Teams wanting a second opinion on a proposal or a price
- Companies where marketing, sales and technology work in isolation
Questions about this
Can you review a proposal from another agency?
Yes. I read along on price, planning and technology, and tell you what I would cut, what is missing, and what I would approach differently.
What if my plan is too big for my budget?
Then I will say so, and together we work out what belongs in phase one and what can wait. A smaller piece that works is worth more than a big plan that never gets off the ground.
Do you stay involved once the plan exists?
If you want. Some clients take the plan and run with it, others want me looking over their shoulder while it is built.
